十多年前，我睡在病床上，願望很簡單——一家人一起吃飯。大病過後，得償所願。今年三十六歲生日前夕，我只希望和外甥女、家人一起度過。可是夾不到時間，家姐又已讀不回。上個月，爸爸生日，補慶祝，足足遲了一個星期。家姐請爸爸吃烤肉，爸爸吃到燥熱，整晚睡不著。媽媽說姐夫愛吃肉，不知是真是假。

約半年前，家姐笑問我借錢買樓，我笑答她︰「我的存款和港島樓，相比是九牛一毛，你不如問問父母。」父親初時有意幫她，不知怎地，爸爸將積蓄買了年金。家姐不放棄，還想問媽媽借錢。媽媽向我訴苦，我怒火中燒，在Facebook說家姐的不是，惹來不少負面的留言。其中，有家姐的同學叫姐夫收手，我也不明所以。事件也在親戚口中鬧得熱烘烘，有長輩勸告母親不要借，有長輩說我大言不慚。有長輩說得更遠，說父母百年歸老後，要將我們仨現在的住所和家姐平分。到目前為止，家姐還未有置業，只是在港島租樓住。現在的市況差勁，好在之前沒有買樓。

說回正題，我家姐是個爽快、對朋友有情有義的人。我和她一起成長，深知她的性格，即使她已組織了自身的家庭多年，我們總有不言而喻的默契。只是自從結婚後，多了一份計算。例如，前幾年，我們住在屯門市中心，她住在元朗，她提議我們仨住她元朗的單位，她改住屯門的三房兩廳，三百萬逐月還。爸爸聽了不對勁，元朗的住所是親家的物業，沒有姐夫的名。

近來，在書店的工作迎來一大難題。不是工作上，而是在人事上。店長現在只管財務出納，其餘工作不太理會。他聘請了一個公務員朋友到書店當兼職，原來這位兼職同事是店長女朋友。我沒有考究她的上班時間，我只見她一上班便在Office和店長吃好東西。吃過好東西，她便去執拾書本，扮工之餘又按按手機，有時又和外來的朋友談笑風生。

收銀同事是一個年青文盲，基本的速成輸入法不懂，很多中文字也不懂。同時他是一位富二代。聽聞他的父親有一艘遊艇。他前幾天對我說，他的父母試過外遊兩個月，留他在家。教科書期間，他開著老舊的私家車接載同事。他能夠過度試用期的原因是有背景，是公司的皇親國戚。他也不是沒有進步，當值期間發少了夢。副店長覺得他只做收銀及包書的工作，便宜了他，所以將中學補充交給他打理。他生性懶散，不要說落貨，副店長說他整理書架也做得不好。結果他總是被人罵，對他來說嘻嘻哈哈又一天。

【明報專訊】安宮牛黃丸近年炒出天價，被指為中風急救藥。連頴姸解釋當中的治病機理，指出不論是腦出血或腦梗塞導致的中風，如患者處於中風急性期，並有神志不清、躁擾不寧、發熱、面紅等徵狀時，可選用安宮牛黃丸，透過其清熱豁痰功效，能起治療效果。

如是者，家中常備安宮牛黃丸，若家人中風昏厥時，立即塞一顆至其口中，是否好方法？連頴姸表示，中風患者可能出現吞嚥問題，不宜胡亂服食藥丸，以免藥物誤入氣管，造成鯁塞風險。正確做法應使用鼻喉，醫護人員可把安宮牛黃丸溶於水，再經鼻喉餵予患者。

林志秀補充，由於安宮牛黃丸由硃砂、雄黃等有毒藥材所製，分別含水銀及砒霜，具一定毒性，務必經註冊中醫處方下使用。另外把安宮牛黃丸溶於水時須講究水溫，要調校至攝氏40至60度，以免水溫過高而釋出有毒物質。

Samson possessed extraordinary physical strength, and the moral of his saga relates the disastrous loss of his power to his violation of the Nazirite vow, to which he was bound by his mother’s promise to the angel. 「食左佢，就等於替身體做了帶氧運動。」這是耳熟能詳的廣告對白。但是，如果帶氧運動有助健康，為何不花少少時間做運動？為何要花費金錢食補品去追求健康。在這裡，我不想太詳細談 Aerobic Exercise, Anaerobic Exercise, Aerobic Respiration, Anaerobic Respiration, Glucose, Adenosine triphosphate, Lactic Acid. 如果大家有興趣的話，可以去查一查Google. 簡單來說，帶氧運動，如跑步、游泳或踏單車，有助增強心肺功能。

對於本人來說，運動可視作一種休息。睡眠與夢境密不可分，一覺醒來感覺仍很疲累。她曾經對我說運動是她自我思考的時間，所以她拒絕跟我一起跑步。人到了三十多歲，雙膝因工作出現勞損，我選擇了游泳這項運動。前上司及好友曾對我說，既然你有運動的習慣，何不嘗試每天上班前都去游一趟。基於恆心問題，自己至今仍未有實行他的建議。

新冠第五波過後，已經去了三次室內泳池。慢慢游，已經可以持續四十五分鐘以上。可是，我只懂自由式，蛙式的姿勢有待改進。

Volume: The benefit gained from the ability to process large amounts of information is the main attraction of big data analytics. Having more data beats out having better models: simple bits of math can be unreasonably effective given large amounts of data. If you could run that forecast taking into account 300 factors rather than 6, could you predict demand better?

Speed: The importance of data is velocity — the increasing rate at which data flows into an organization — has followed a similar pattern to that of volume. Problems previously restricted to segments of industry are now presenting themselves in a much broader setting. In the past, specialized companies such as financial traders have long turned systems that cope with fast moving data to their advantage. Now, the Internet and mobile era means that the way we deliver and consume products and services is increasingly instrumented, generating a data flow back to the provider. Online retailers are able to compile large histories of customers' every click and interaction: not just the final sales. Those who are able to quickly utilize that information, by recommending additional purchases, for instance, gain competitive advantage.

Variety: Rarely does data present itself in a form perfectly ordered and ready for processing. A common theme in big data systems is that the source data is diverse, and doesn't fall into neat relational structures. It could be text from social networks, image data, a raw feed directly from a sensor source. 後記︰昨天上班時瀏覽博客來，看看有什麼新書，留意到這本《門外漢的京都》。下班後我瀏覽公立圖書館應用程式，得知有舊版可借。今天，早上到柴灣祭祖後，下午往元朗公共圖書館閱讀了第一個篇章，沒有電影知識的我呆呆看不懂，讀到極多陌生的地名讓我失去了方向。書本被其他讀者撕去了兩三頁不足為奇。奇怪是書本首空白頁寫了幾行字︰中華基督教會家情軒、時間、負責人的姓氏。幾年前，我在該機構工作，被委派去不同的小學當功課輔導班導師。雖然時薪高，但工時短。當小學生放寒暑期，是沒有工資的。那時的我一邊做兼職一邊進修普通話，不過到今天也學不懂國語，慚愧！
