Aimer -

The other side of the fogged window

But I am sure that it is clear now

From inside my heart

A never fading smile

Bright memory are always warm

Words I could say shyly while looking into your eyes

I just want to meet you, but the voice couldn't come out

Even if I look back, It won't reach far away

Like the sun that is setting

The way back home that we walk together

Sorry if it was more monotonous than I thought

The song will surely reach the sky

Does it reach you too?

Look, I believe it won't fade here yet

At the other side of sadness

The street after rain

Sparking innocently

But beyond the illuminated point

Was my dropped tear

Yet the unknown promise is warm

Even if it is a mistake, I won't throw it away

The dream that was never shaped will never fade away

Small wishes never come true

Tell me over and over

Lies said were covered

There are no worry while saying with smile

The voice will surely scatter in the night sky

Does it reach you?

Hey, I believe it is there now

At the other side of sadness

Uncertain words

They are freezing now

Your ambiguous smile

Nervously sketching this hour

Even if I look back, it won't reach far away

In quick steps

The way back home that we walk together

Sorry if it was duller than I thought

This song will surely reach the sky

Does it reach you too?

Look, I believe it won't fade here yet

At the other side of sadness

Rather than coming down to simply balancing calories-in with calories-out, the link between diet (particularly fiber), microbes, short-chain fatty acids, gut permeability and chronic inflammation makes obesity seem rather more like a disease of energy regulation than a simple case of overeating.

Collen, A. (2015). 10% Human: How Your Body's Microbes Hold the Key to Health and Happiness. London: William Collins.

Short-chain fatty acids, produced as by-products of dietary fiber metabolism by gut bacteria, have anti-inflammatory properties.

hk01.com

Reflective Journal

Eleven years ago, I was a year-two nursing student. At that period, I was keen on participating voluntary work. My friend was an occupational therapist. She invited me to help an elderly to visit a park in Diamond Hill. I brought him to have sightseeing with wheelchair. The weight of the elderly was heavy and the slopes in the park were steep. I moved the wheelchair slowly but an accident occurred. One of the front wheels of the wheelchair trapped into a drainage ditch. He fell on the floor. As I know, he did not hurt or did not have fracture. I saw his wife pat the limbs of the elderly. It would hurt him further if he really had fracture. Now, I feel ashamed because I posted the beautiful scenes of the park in Facebook at that night. I wonder why I didn't know this was a serious case as a year-two nursing student. If he had osteoporosis, the risk of bone fracture was even higher. A topic can also be debated. Is physical restraint necessary for the client using wheelchair? If a physical restraint is used, do we need to consider the feeling of the elderly. If a physical restraint is not used, the safety of the elderly in the wheelchair can be hindered.

This One

How can I put this I I I

I'm an independent woman, I...

I've been crying like a child

I just wanted you to know the person that I am

More than any other your fans

I would love you for a thousand years

Yours truly

I ain't gonna play it cool

Let me tell you I've tried that

Already

Every day, and every night, your words

Ring through me

Who am I trying to fool, honey I've been living on my own

like Freddy

But I'm still a woman, baby tell me how

How could I ever love another?

How could you say you don't remember?

God knows I'd give anything

For just one more night together

Today I'll miss you more than ever

How could you say you don't remember?

This one's for the happiness I'll be wishing you forever

It's just another Friday night

For you and your accessory (lights)

And there you are before my eyes

Two hours and for fifteen minutes you are here

I don't wanna scream lest (at least?) I should tear

A whisper in the darkness disappears

Sincerely

We should get back on the road

Like Simon and Garfunkel

Let's get married

You were all the shelter that I need above me

Who am I trying to fool

Honey I've got your ringtone on my

Blackberry (Apple)

And I won't give a damn if only I knew how

How could I ever love another?

How could you say you don't remember?

God knows I'd give anything

For just one more night together

Today I'll miss you more than ever

How could you say you don't remember?

This one's for the happiness I'll be wishing you forever

You got me crying like a child

Ain't no need for me to lie

A hundred JPEG files filling up my hard drive

You got me crying like a child

And the crowd is going wild

This one, this is the one

Come on and give it up

How could I ever love another?

How could you say you don't remember?

God knows I'd give anything

For just one more night together

Today I'll miss you more than ever

How could you say you don't remember?

This one's for the happiness I'll be wishing you forever

How could I ever love another?

How could you say you don't remember?

God knows I'd give anything

NMN and NAD+

Research on the biology of NAD+ has been gaining momentum, providing many critical insights into the pathogenesis of age-associated functional decline and diseases.

Two intermediates of NAD+ biosynthesis, nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), effectively increase NAD+ concentration in a variety of tissues, in many cases with beneficial or therapeutic effects.

These two NAD+ intermediates have long been known and are found in a wide variety of our daily foods, such as vegetables, fruits, and meat.

There has been an increasing interest in using NAD+ intermediates as effective interventions to improve or even prevent certain aspects of age-associated functional decline.

Recent studies have suggested that NMN improves numerous neuronal functions in the brain. NMN administration improves cognition and memory in mouse and rat models of Alzheimer's disease.

In the vast majority of cases in which NMN and NR are effective, it still remains unclear what downstream mechanisms mediate their beneficial effects.

There might be a risk that boosting NAD+ could drive tumor growth.

Further preclinical and clinical studies are needed to establish the long-term safety of NMN and NR as human therapeutics.

Aimer - Words

"I love you" is such a powerless word

Even now, I don't need anything but you

The image of you I hold inside, please don't become a liar

I can't cling (抓緊) onto the you I once knew anymore

Tell me "I won't leave you alone anymore"

while holding me so tightly with you arm

but now you're nowhere to be found

I want you to feel the scars you left in my heart

but you weren't able to find them

If we can't meet anymore

then I at least wanted to have the chance hate you

I don't even know anyone with such a gentle smile but you

I wanted to become strong so I wouldn't be afraid of trusting others

I didn't want to hurt you in my state of desperation of anxiety

I loved you so much, the one who lives like the seasons

that I forget to even breath

The happiness I found slips off my hand without a sound to be made

"I love you" is such a powerless word

Even now I don't need anything but you

There was no "goodbye", you just vanished without saying a word

After trying to satisfy you so much

you didn't even give me one last word

"I love you" is such a powerless word

Even now, I can't start walking alone from here

I'm wishing tomorrow wouldn't be able to be seen in the sky as dawn breaks

I'll say these last words "goodbye, dear"

So I can go forward again

Discrimination

Those days were gone
like they were all just a dream
Leaving behind your timid (膽怯的) smile
and gentle nails

Like a boring flower petal
I forgot all my suffering
and smiled, softly crying
on your shoulders

I was filled with wonderful love
Make me think of days
that never come back
Holding my breath
in an artificial garden

I stayed in a moment
much like the quiet bottom of the sea
Forgetting that seasons come and go

Cold flower petals
scatter in the night
They look just like white snow, don't they?
The fell above you
so bittersweet (苦樂參半)
I just want to brush away
all your sadness

I will never be able to forgive anything
that hurts you
I wish I could go back
to those sweet and gentle days
So badly, it makes me tear up

The flower petals
I looked up at with you
have scattered

The moon hid in the cloud
which made you lose your way
You looked at me
like you were ready to burst into tears

If we put together
our two, jagged (鋸齒狀) little hearts
I am sure something gentle
would come to life

You did not allow anything
to hurt me
That's all I could ever ask for

I clutched (抓緊) the hand
you held to me flirtatiously (輕佻)
Finally, a warm gleam lit
The world I have already given up

The cold flower petals
tear up the night
I want to bundle up all the lights I have picked
and sprinkle (灑落) them all over you
like joy

You promised that you would get mad at me
if I ever did anything bad, didn't you?

So I am sure you will find me one more time
You don't need to be somewhere
that makes you feel lonely
The flower petals
I looked up at alone
have scattered

The vaccine contains small pieces of viral messenger RNA, a molecule with instructions for making proteins. Scientists pack the mRNA inside a slippery pod made of lipids, so it can slide into the cells.

Once inside the cells, the mRNA finds ribosomes. A ribosome is a cellular particle made of RNA and protein that serves as the site for protein synthesis in the cell. The ribosome reads the sequence of the mRNA and, using the genetic code, translates the sequence of RNA bases into a sequence of amino acids.

Ribosomes start making SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins based on the viral mRNA. Spike proteins coat the surface of the virus and are harmless on their own. They are considered a good vaccine target which is also called an antigen.

An immune cell perceives the spike proteins as if the body had been infected. It kicks off a sequence of events that result in the creation of antibodies and other defences.

Needle aspiration is the process of pulling back on the syringe plunger prior to injection. Its purported (據稱的) importance is to prevent accidental entry of the needle into a blood vessel, but there is no scientific evidence to support its need. The most recent guidelines published by the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that aspiration prior to intramuscular vaccination may not be necessary, while the Canadian guidelines continue to recommend aspiration. It is not surprising therefore that both techniques are currently being used by vaccinators.

The heat of vaporization of water is around 2,260 kJ/kg.

SLE

Hypothesis of translocation

Phloem consists of living cells arranged end to end. Phloem vessels contain cytoplasm, and this goes through holes from one cell to the next.

Phloem transports sucrose up and down the plant. This is called translocation.

https://www.bbc.co.uk

Sugars produced in sources, such as leaves, need to be delivered to growing parts of the plant via the phloem in a process called translocation.

The sucrose from the source are usually translocated to the nearest sink (root) through the phloem sieve tube elements.

https://organismalbio.biosci.gatech.edu

The phloem tissue is the principal sugar conductive (傳導的) tissue in plants. Over 90 years ago, Ernest Münch (1930) proposed the now widely accepted mechanism for phloem transport. According to his theory, the mass flow in the phloem is driven by an osmotically generated pressure gradient. As the sieve pores interconnect the protoplasts (cells which have had their cell wall removed) of the sieve tubes, the transport in the sieve tube itself is a mass flow driven by a pressure gradient.

A dynamic version of Münch’s pressure flow model, the sugar (violet arrows) and water (blue arrows), and the relative proportion of sieve elements (SEs) and companion cells (CCs) in the respective phloem zones. Sugar is translocated via the phloem through essentially leaky instead of sealed pipes.

The solute concentration are controlled by release/retrieval mechanisms in the sieve element–companion cell complexes (SECCCs). Differential release/retrieval balances control the influx/efflux of sugars and water in the various phloem zones. In the collection phloem, the uptake or retrieval dominates; in the release phloem, the release dominates. In the transport phloem, having a dual task (nourishment of lateral and terminal sinks), the balance between release and retrieval varies with the requirements of the plant.

The gradual loss of solutes and corresponding amount of water towards the sink (root), where massive delivery of water and solutes takes place, has been attributed to the relative size reduction of CCs along the source to sink path, which may explain a decreasing retrieval capacity of the SECCCs in the direction of the sink.
