Basic Law

The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has the ultimate authority to interpret and amend the Basic Law and to revoke (廢除) any Hong Kong law that it feels violates the Basic Law.

Article 23 allows Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to prohibit subversion (顛覆) against the People's Republic of China government.
