愛國與顛覆

On July 21 (1989), the People’s Daily (人民日報) condemned Martin Lee and Szeto Wah, the two founders of the Alliance in Support of the Patriotic Democratic Movement in China (支聯會) for directing “subversive (顛覆) activities” against the Chinese government. The Chinese government excluded Lee and Szeto from the Basic Law Drafting Committee and urged the Hong Kong government to ban the alliance.
