Sympathy is a feeling of sincere concern for someone who is experiencing something difficult or painful. Empathy involves actively sharing in the person’s emotional experience.

persuasion: convincing

repertoire: all the things that a person is able to do

liberate: to free somebody from something that limits their control over and pleasure in their own life

serenity: the quality of being calm and peaceful

It is inspiring to realize that in choosing our response to circumstance, we powerfully affect our circumstance. When we change one part of the chemical formula, we change the nature of the results.

gofer: a person whose job is to do small boring tasks for other people, especially in an office or on a film set

alienate somebody: to make somebody less friendly towards you

articulate: expressing oneself readily, clearly, and effectively

absolve: to state formally that somebody is not guilty or responsible for something

There are some people who interpret "proactive" to mean pushy, aggressive, or insensitive, but that isn't the case at all. Proactive people aren't pushy. They're smart, they're value driven, they read reality, and they know what's needed.

rhetoric: speech or writing that is intended to influence people, but that is not completely honest or sincere

subjugation: the act of defeating somebody/something; complete control over somebody/something

paddy: a field in which rice is grown

imperceptibly: in a very small way that cannot be seen or felt

groundswell: the sudden increase of a particular feeling among a group of people
