Tepal

A tepal is a part of a flower that is not clearly a sepal or a petal. Sepals are the outermost parts of the flower that protect the bud, while petals are the inner parts that attract pollinators. Tepals are used to describe the parts of the flower when they look similar to each other, or when they are all the same color and shape.
