Extracorporeal ([͵ekstrəkɔ:ˋpɔ:riəl] situated or occurring outside the body) shock wave therapy (ESWT) is an effective and safe non-invasive treatment option for tendon and other pathologies of the musculoskeletal system.

ESWT is effective and safe. An optimum treatment protocol for ESWT appears to be three treatment sessions at 1-week intervals, with 2000 impulses per session and the highest energy flux density the patient can tolerate.

Schmitz, C., & Császár, B.M. (2015). Efficacy and safety of extracorporeal shock wave therapy for orthopedic conditions: a systematic review on studies listed in the PEDro database [Abstract]. British Medical Bulletin, 116(1):115-138. doi:10.1093/bmb/ldv047

Interferential (干擾波) Therapy: As the name implies, a current is generated within the tissues as a result of the interaction of two separate circuits. It can therefore be appreciated that four electrodes are required, two for each circuit. The two currents generated by the unit are medium frequency currents in the 4000 cycle per second range...It is undoubtedly an effective therapy for controlling pain.

Ganne, J.M. (1976). Interferential therapy [Abstract]. The Australian Journal of Physiotherapy, 22(3): 101-10. doi:10.1016/S0004-9514(14)61005-9.

並非所有人均適合接受干擾波治療,如裝有心臟起搏器、皮膚感覺減弱人士、治療位置有傷口或細菌感染、腫瘤病患者等,都不宜接受治療。

This is the day of dramatization. Merely stating a truth isn't enough. The truth has to be made vivid (耀眼的), interesting, dramatic. You have to use showmanship (表演技巧). The movies do it. Television does it. And you will have to do it if you want attention.

"I was presenting the same facts this time that I had presented previously. But this time I was using dramatization (誇張), showmanship --- and what a difference it made."

sympathy of desire

You deserve very little credit for being what you are --- and remember, the people who come to you irritated, bigoted (偏執的), unreasoning, deserve very little discredit for being what they are. Feel sorry for the poor devils. Pity (同情) them. Sympathize with them.

Dr. Arthur I Gates said in his splendid book Educational Psychology, "Sympathy the human species universally craves. The child eagerly displays his injury; or even inflicts (強加) a cut or bruise in order to reap abundant sympathy. For the same purpose adult...show their bruises, relate their accidents, illness, especially details of surgical operations. 'Self-pity' for misfortunes real or imaginary is, in some measure, practically a universal practice."
